Mother’s Day is a time to honor the moms in our lives and express our gratitude for their endless love, care, and support. Moms are the cornerstone of many families, tirelessly providing for their children in ways big and small. It’s a demanding role that requires constant dedication, but it’s also one of the most rewarding jobs out there. This Mother’s Day, let’s celebrate moms and all they do with a theme ride in our indoor cycling classes!
We’ve put together a special Mother’s Day bucket playlist with about 220 songs to keep you motivated throughout your ride. Whether you’re curating your own ride or need some inspiration, we’ve got you covered with two ready-to-use ride profiles that pay tribute to moms.
“Celebrate Moms” with Fern’s Ride
At the end of this post, you’ll find Fern’s “Celebrate Moms” ride profile. This workout reflects the inner strength and determination that mothers embody as they navigate the challenges of motherhood. Channel a mom’s energy and resilience into this ride, and it might just propel you to new personal bests!
“A Tribute to Mom” with Susan LaFond’s Ride
Another profile, Susan LaFond’s “A Tribute to Mom,” takes you on a metaphorical journey through two significant stages in a mother’s life: the moment she brings a child into the world and the journey of raising that child. The ride features steep climbs and varied terrain, symbolizing the ups and downs that mothers face. The flat sections represent the calm moments when milestones are achieved and time seems to fly by. A single recovery between the two main climbs is a nod to the moments of pure joy that mothers experience. Finally, the cool-down and stretch offer a reflective space to consider your own journey and celebrate the strength and growth you’ve achieved. You can find that profile here.
Try This New Song!
Here is a fabulous song called “Powerful Women” by Pitbull and Dolly Parton, released in 2024. It is a remix of Dolly’s powerful 1980 anthem “9 to 5,” and while it’s primarily about working women, it also includes respect for mothers, as Pitbull sings, “Here’s to your mamma and here’s to mine (thank you Dolly)!”
The song is a bit fast to match cadence to at 112 bpm, but you can ask for a cadence in the 90s and surge the legs to 100–110 rpm on the chorus. Or, grab a slow climb at 56 rpm and surge the legs to just over 60 rpm on the chorus.
The Strength She Carries
This year, Fern suggested another angle for your Mother’s Day ride: celebrating the quiet (and not-so-quiet) strength that defines motherhood. Mothers are often the steady force holding everything together—adapting, enduring, and showing up again and again, even when it’s hard. They teach resilience not just through words, but through example: how to keep going, how to rise after setbacks, and how to find strength you didn’t know you had.
Why not reflect that spirit in your ride with songs that embody grit, confidence, and perseverance? These tracks are perfect for powerful climbs, strong steady efforts, or moments when you want your riders to tap into that deep well of determination.
I’ve also included our bucket playlist on strength below, with 290 song options. You can find that playlist—along with 32 other (yes, thirty-two!) inspirational bucket playlists with over 3,000 songs—in this post.

A Special Note of Compassion
While Mother’s Day is a joyous occasion for many, it’s also important to remember that it can be a difficult day for some. Those who have struggled to become mothers or have lost their mothers may find it challenging. As you ride, be mindful of others’ experiences and create a space that welcomes everyone.
So let’s celebrate Mother’s Day with energy and empathy. Cycle your way through these special rides, honor the moms in your life, and remember to spread kindness. You never know what someone might be going through. Happy riding!
