LOVE LOVE LOVE this song for Spinning! I have been using it for 2 decades! I love the build up to the intense beat drop at 1:44, and then even bigger at 4:38 where he says “Get down”! I’ve used this in a TDF stage for attacks on big climbs —where the beat takes off like that are so great for standing attacks. Then it backs off as you describe the riders settling back into a steady pace.
My version is the one you describe, from the Trainspotting album. It’s at 128 bpm. But this Youtube video is a faster version at 137 bpm which makes it an even more aggressive climb. I’ll have to get a hold of this version too for a TDF stage next year! Love the video.
I found the album that has this version with much better sound for a small price – lots of great tunes!
