I am happy to say I posted my first Facebook Live video on the ICA FB page. I have been talking about it (to myself, that is…yes, I do that a lot!) for a few months, ever since Facebook live videos came out…and I finally got the nerve to do one today.
I can get on a stage in front of 300 people at a conference, or be a ham in front of my own class with no problem. Doing video is a little harder, but knowing it can be edited makes a big difference. But this live stuff??!! Wow, admittedly, that was a much bigger hurdle to get over.
But I did it! I started with a video on my personal profile introducing our new kitten Madeleine (named after the Col de la Madeleine in the Alps). That got me over the hump. Remember, just like teaching your very first class. After the first, one, it just gets easier and easier from a confidence standpoint.
Today I posted one on the ICA Facebook page about today’s very exciting stage and tomorrow’s epic climb up Mont Ventoux. Well, the abbreviated climb, because in case you missed it, tomorrow’s stage is being shortened due to expected very high winds. Watch my video below to learn more.

I invite you to come on over to the ICA Facebook page and give us a LIKE and spend some time there. I plan on doing more live videos that I think you’ll enjoy. Over the next few weeks, they’ll be mostly about the Tour de France to help you with teaching your TDF stages in your classes. But then I’ll add coaching tips and a lot more!
