This is a high-intensity interval profile based on reducing intensity and increasing duration. After an extended warm-up, you’ll perform short surges that decrease in intensity. The goal is to develop an understanding of how an extreme effort can influence the efforts that come after it, even though they are reducing in intensity. What would normally be a challenging ride becomes a little more challenging due to the hard efforts employed at the beginning.
