Class Profile: Three Progressive Climbs

Craving more climbing challenges? Look no further! If you love to conquer those peaks in your classes, this new profile is a must-add to your schedule. Get ready to elevate your ride with these exhilarating climbs!

This profile features three long climbs, each lasting 11–14 minutes. The intensity progresses within each climb, starting from a moderate pace (seated in Zone 3), moving to a somewhat hard effort (Zone 3–4), and finishing with a challenging push to the summit (mostly Zone 4 with a few short pushes to Zone 5).

Although this isn’t a themed ride per se—and you can enjoy it any time of the year—it does have a unique musical focus. The entire playlist features songs by Black artists from a diverse array of genres. I originally created this ride for Black History Month in February and plan to showcase it again for Juneteenth (though I might switch out a few tracks this second time).

Black musical artists have long been a source of power, inspiration, and creativity. Their music provides the perfect backdrop for indoor cycling, offering rhythm, soul, and energy that elevate the entire experience. Whether it’s the driving beats of hip-hop, the soulful melodies of R&B, or the electrifying sounds of rock and funk, this playlist will motivate you to push harder and climb higher.

If you plan on using this profile for Juneteenth (June 19), consider switching out a few songs from our suggestions on the page of our Juneteenth post. You’ll also find a bucket playlist of almost 300 tracks by Black artists in that post.

I hope you enjoy the profile below. Please share your experience with us; we’d love to hear how you and your riders conquered these climbs and rocked out to the powerful rhythms of these incredible Black artists!
