The Gratitude Ride (2025)

This year’s Gratitude Ride comes with a little extra… adventure and gratitude. I had planned to post a fully updated long-form profile, but an unexpectedly dramatic mountain bike crash last week—complete with stitches, swelling, and two ER visits—plus planned travel to San Diego for a wedding (on crutches, no less) had other plans for my week.

While painful, I’m incredibly grateful it wasn’t worse.

The good news? The Express Profile (your customizable spreadsheet) is finally ready for you, and you can still teach this uplifting, connection-focused theme ride in time for Thanksgiving. Use the cueing from the original 90-minute version to enrich your coaching for this updated profile.

The full long-form rewrite will make its triumphant—and hopefully injury-free—return next year.

Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for being part of this incredible instructor community. I hope this ride brings reflection, appreciation, and a whole lot of heart to your classes.

And as always… keep the rubber side down!

I took this photo a few minutes before my fall…

  1. Oh no!! Glad it wasn’t worse, and hopefully you’ll be back on the bike before too long. Grateful for ICA and all the amazing profiles, articles and music suggestions. Don’t know what I’d do without all the wonderful contributors! Definitely using snippets of this one all week! Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Thank you so much, Meghan! Yeah, it wasn’t fun. Certainly not the worst crash I’ve had, but definitely the worst injury. It was (still is!) humbling. I really appreciate your kind words and knowing how ICA has helped you as an instructor. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!
