Wednesday Timeless Classics: Drums That Make You Want to Dance

  1. Had Safri Duo’s ‘Rise’ from their 3.0 CD been available on Spotify, there would have been a previous ICA Weekly Music Suggestion featuring the Danish DJs. All I could find on Spotify was the remixed version with vocals titled ‘Rise (Leave Me Alone)’. The original instrumental version from 3.0 is superior and outstanding for powering through switchbacks at 69 rpms. If I was able to us it for a Friday Favorite column, I would have noted the timing for coming out of the saddle and charging up the switchbacks. It’s obvious from the music. The full 7:13 version can be found on youtube at:

  2. Hands down one of my all time favorite songs and a go to track. I profile it similarly as a strong climb and have also used it for ladders and pyramids. Just love the energy of this and so many other Safri Duo tracks, like Snakefood.
