Olympic-Themed Profile: Faster, Higher, Stronger!

With the winter Olympics quickly approaching we’ve pulled this inspirational profile from the vault.

Christine has done it again, this time with an Olympic-themed profile based on Citius Altius Fortius, which is Latin for Faster, Higher, Stronger. And while it is tremendously relevant during the Olympic Games, it is also a profile to pull out again and again, to remind your students of their amazing potential. This profile has no limits!

This profile also gives you 30 inspirational quotes from athletes and coaches to use in your promotional materials, as cues during the ride or to project on a screen for additional motivation.

As you cue this ride, you will empower your students to come up with a motivational phrase that inspires them. You may be very surprised at the results!

Christine shared a great story about her experience with her own students when she taught this profile:

The middle section where I asked people to create their own motivational phrase worked really, really well. Everybody did it and some of the results were very effective.

My two favorites were:

All in, All out, All day. That might not work for everyone but it is perfect for the guy who came up with it.

My very favorite needs a backstory. I have been working around a theme I call “ATP is the answer” in a series of presentations and workouts. I structure my teaching so that when I ask the class, “What is the answer?” they yell “ATP.” It has been mind-blowingly effective.

Anyway, I asked one guy for his phrase and he responded with “The answer is ATP—Adapt, Transform, Persevere.”

It made my heart go pit-a-pat.

Imagine what you can do with your own students! If they (or you) come up with some really great motivational phrases, can you share them here in the comments?

Also, let us know if you find any other songs that work well with this ride—songs with the theme of victory, faster, higher, and stronger.
