Theme Ride Thursday: Olympics Playlist and Profiles

The Olympic Games are right around the corner and do we have a motivating, heart-pounding Olympics playlist for you! These songs embody the spirit of the athlete and focus on drive, determination, and what it takes to be the best. If you’re looking for sport-specific songs, then reference our fitness and exercise playlist. If you’re based in the United States, why not mix patriotic songs from our Fourth of July playlist.

And no Olympics profile would be complete without Whitney Houston’s “One Moment in Time,” so make sure to include this one in your cool-down!

As with every Olympics, there’s sure to be spectacle and drama, heartbreak and heroic feats. Here’s to the champions, whether they medal or not—those athletes who are committed to giving their all!

For Beijing-specific songs, do a search for “Beijing Olympics” in Spotify or Apple Music. I found this short electronic one with a Chinese feel that would be nice for a short hard effort at 69 rpm (138 bpm). You can also use it as a recovery where you need an extra minute before working hard again.

This was the theme to the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. I haven’t seen a specific song for 2022 yet (at least, not in Spotify), but this might be a good cool-down song to use.

In addition to the inspirational bucket playlist below, here are a few of our relevant profiles from past Olympics, both winter and summer, where you can draw inspiration for a profile for this year’s games. Many of the motivational songs used can be transferred to your own profile.

Olympic Dreams (originally created for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, based on some of the events.)

Faster, Higher, Stronger (also created for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, based on the concept of Citius, Altius, Fortius.)

Legends (originally created for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.)

This is How Legends Are Made (originally created for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, this profile is easy to modify for any athletic endeavor.)
